Hadith of Bashir ibn al-Khasasiyah (RA)
Hadith 905:5
'Abd al-Samad narrated to us, al-Aswad narrated to us, Khalid ibn Sumayr narrated to us, Bashir ibn Nahik narrated to us, he said: Bashir, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), narrated to me. His name during the Jahiliyyah was Zahm ibn Ma'bad. He migrated to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and he asked him, "What is your name?" He said, "Zahm." He said, "No, rather you are Bashir," so that became his name. He said: While I was walking with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), he said, "O Ibn al-Khasasiyyah, what have you come to resent against Allah this morning? You have come to walk with the Messenger of Allah." Abu Shayban—who is al-Aswad ibn Shayban—said: I think he said, "While holding his hand." I said: "O Messenger of Allah, may my father and mother be sacrificed for you, I do not resent anything against Allah." Then he mentioned the hadith, and he said, "O owner of the two leather sandals, cast off your two leather sandals."
