Hadith 1115:12
'Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, Malik narrated to us, from Nafi', from Ibn 'Umar, that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) entered the Ka'bah, and 'Uthman ibn Talhah, Usamah ibn Zayd, and Bilal had closed it. When he came out, I asked Bilal: "What did the Prophet do?" He said: "He left two pillars to his right, one pillar to his left, and three pillars behind him, then he prayed while there were three cubits between him and the Qiblah."
حدثنا عبد الرحمن، حدثنا مالك، عن نافع، عن ابن عمر، أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم دخل الكعبة وعثمان بن طلحة وأسامة بن زيد وبلال قد غلقها، فلما خرج سألت بلالا: ماذا صنع النبي؟ قال: " ترك عمودين عن يمينه، وعمودا عن يساره، وثلاثة أعمدة خلفه، ثم صلى وبينه وبين القبلة ثلاثة أذرع "
