Hadith 1115:9
Muhammad ibn Bakr and Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, they said: Ibn Jurayj informed us, Abu Bakr ibn Hafs ibn Umar informed me, Abu Abdullah informed me, from Abu Abd al-Rahman, that he heard Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf asking Bilal: "How did the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, wipe over the leather socks?" He said: "He went to relieve himself, then he called for a purifier—meaning a water skin—and he washed his face and his hands, then he wiped over his leather socks and over the turban's head covering." Abd al-Razzaq said: "Then he called for a purifier, the water skin."
حدثنا محمد بن بكر، وعبد الرزاق، قالا: أخبرنا ابن جريج، أخبرني أبو بكر بن حفص بن عمر، أخبرني أبو عبد الله، عن أبي عبد الرحمن أنه سمع عبد الرحمن بن عوف، يسأل بلالا كيف مسح النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم على الخفين؟ قال: " تبرز ثم دعا بمطهرة - أي: إداوة -، فغسل وجهه ويديه، ثم مسح على خفيه وعلى خمار العمامة، قال عبد الرزاق:، ثم دعا بمطهرة بالإداوة "
