Hadith 704:1
Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us—Abdullah ibn Ahmad said: And I heard it myself from Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn Abi Shaybah—he said: Zayd ibn al-Hubab narrated to us, he said: al-Walid ibn al-Mughirah al-Ma'afiri narrated to me, he said: Abdullah ibn Bishr al-Khath'ami narrated to me, from his father, that he heard the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, saying: "Constantinople shall surely be conquered; how excellent the leader who leads it, and how excellent that army." He said: Then Maslamah ibn Abd al-Malik called for me and asked me, so I narrated it to him, and he went on an expedition to Constantinople.
حدثنا عبد الله بن محمد بن أبي شيبة، قال عبد الله بن أحمد: وسمعته أنا من عبد الله بن محمد بن أبي شيبة، قال: حدثنا زيد بن الحباب، قال: حدثني الوليد بن المغيرة المعافري، قال: حدثني عبد الله بن بشر الخثعمي، عن أبيه أنه سمع النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول: " لتفتحن القسطنطينية، فلنعم الأمير أميرها، ولنعم الجيش ذلك الجيش ". قال: فدعاني مسلمة بن عبد الملك فسألني، فحدثته، فغزا القسطنطينية
