The Hadith of Buhaysah, from her father (RA)
حديث بهيسة، عن أبيها
Hadith 232:3
Yazid narrated to us, he said: Kahmas narrated to us, he said: Sayyar ibn Manzur al-Fazari narrated to me, from his father, from Bahisah, she said: My father sought permission from the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, then he began to draw near to him and embrace him. Then he said: "O Prophet of Allah, what is the thing that is not permissible to withhold?" He said: "Water." Then he said: "O Prophet of Allah, what is the thing that is not permissible to withhold?" He said: "Salt." He said: "O Prophet of Allah, what is the thing that is not permissible to withhold?" The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "That you do good is better for you." He said: "His statement ended at water and salt." He said: "So that man would not withhold anything, even if it were small."
حدثنا يزيد، قال: حدثنا كهمس، قال: حدثني سيار بن منظور الفزاري، عن أبيه، عن بهيسة، قالت: استأذن أبي النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، فجعل يدنو منه ويلتزمه، ثم قال: يا نبي الله، ما الشيء الذي لا يحل منعه؟ قال: " الماء " ثم قال: يا نبي الله، ما الشيء الذي لا يحل منعه؟ قال: " الملح " ، قال: يا نبي الله ما الشيء الذي لا يحل منعه؟ قال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: " أن تفعل الخير خير لك " قال: " فانتهى قوله إلى الماء والملح " قال: " فكان ذلك الرجل لا يمنع شيئا وإن قل "
