Musnad Ahmad 1017:101

Rawh narrated to us, Ali ibn Suwayd ibn Manjuf narrated to us, from Abdullah ibn Buraydah, from his father, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent Ali to Khalid ibn al-Walid to distribute the khums (one-fifth share). Rawh said once: To collect the khums. He said: So Ali woke up in the morning, and his head was dripping (from ghusl). Khalid said to Buraydah, "Do you not see what this man is doing?"—referring to what Ali had done. He said: And I used to hate Ali. He said: So he (the Prophet) said: "O Buraydah, do you hate Ali?" I said: Yes. He said: "Do not hate him." Rawh said once: "Rather, love him, for he has more than that in the khums."
