Musnad Ahmad 1017:16

Abu Nu‘aym narrated to us, Bashir ibn al-Muhajir narrated to us, ‘Abdullah ibn Buraydah narrated to me, from his father, who said: I was sitting with the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and I heard him say: "Learn Surah al-Baqarah, for taking it is a blessing, leaving it is a regret, and the sorcerers (al-batalah) cannot withstand it." He said: Then he remained silent for a while, then he said: "Learn Surah al-Baqarah and Al ‘Imran, for they are the two radiant ones (al-zahrawan). They will shade their companion on the Day of Resurrection as if they were two clouds, or two canopies, or two flocks of birds in formation." "And the Quran will meet its companion on the Day of Resurrection when his grave splits open for him, like a pale man. It will say to him: 'Do you recognize me?' He will say: 'I do not recognize you.' It will say: 'I am your companion, the Quran, who made you thirsty in the midday heat and kept you awake at night. Every merchant is behind his trade, and you are today behind every trade.' So sovereignty will be given to his right hand, and eternity to his left, and a crown of dignity will be placed upon his head. His parents will be clothed in two garments that the people of the world cannot equal. They will say: 'Why have we been clothed with this?' It will be said: 'Because your child took the Quran.' Then it will be said to him: 'Read and ascend the steps of Paradise and its chambers.' He will continue to ascend as long as he reads, whether he is reciting quickly or slowly (tartil)."
