Musnad Ahmad 719:1

Surayj ibn al-Nu‘man narrated to us, Baqiyyah ibn al-Walid narrated to us, from Sulayman ibn Sulaym, from Yahya ibn Jabir, from Damrah ibn Tha‘labah, that he came to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, while he was wearing two garments from the garments of Yemen. He said: "O Damrah, do you think these two garments of yours will cause you to enter Paradise?" He said: "If you seek forgiveness for me, O Messenger of Allah, I will not sit until I take them off." The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "O Allah, forgive Damrah ibn Tha‘labah." He then departed quickly until he took them off.
