Musnad Ahmad 588:1

Muhammad ibn Ja‘far narrated to us, Sa‘id narrated to us, from Qatadah, from Sinan ibn Salamah, from Ibn ‘Abbas, that Dhu’ayb, the father of Qabisah, narrated to him: That the Prophet of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, used to send the sacrificial camels and would say: "If any of them becomes incapacitated and you fear for it, then slaughter it, dip its sandal in its blood, and strike its side with it, and do not eat from it yourself, nor anyone from your companions."
