Musnad Ahmad 1255:14

Muhammad ibn Ja‘far narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn ‘Amr narrated to us, from Abu Salamah, from Fatimah bint Qays—he said: I wrote that down from her mouth—she said: I was with a man from Banu Makhzum, and he divorced me irrevocably. I sent to his family seeking maintenance, and they said: "You have no maintenance upon us." So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "You have no maintenance upon them, and you have the waiting period. Move to Umm Sharik, and do not let yourself escape me." Then he said: "Indeed, Umm Sharik is visited by her brothers from the first of the Emigrants. Move to Ibn Umm Maktum, for he is a man whose sight has gone; if you take off any of your garments, he will not see anything." She said: When I became lawful [to marry], Mu‘awiyah and Abu Jahm ibn Hudhayfah proposed to me. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "As for Mu‘awiyah, he is a destitute man with no wealth. And as for Abu Jahm, he is a man who does not put his staff down from his shoulder [i.e., he is harsh/often travels]. Where are you regarding Usamah ibn Zayd?" It was as if her family disliked that. She said: "I will not marry except the one whom the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) invited me to." So she married him.
