And from the Hadith of Fatimah bint Qais, sister of Ad-Dahhak bin Qais (RA)

Hadith 1255:5

Waki’ narrated to us, from Sufyan, who heard it from Abu Bakr ibn Abi al-Jahm, who said: I heard Fatimah bint Qays say: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to me: "When you have become lawful (i.e., finished your waiting period), inform me." So I informed him. Then Mu’awiyah ibn Abi Sufyan, Abu al-Jahm, and Usamah ibn Zayd proposed to her. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "As for Mu’awiyah, he is a destitute man who has no wealth. As for Abu al-Jahm, he is a man who beats women. But [marry] Usamah." She said: She gestured with her hand like this—"Usamah? Usamah?"—meaning she did not want him. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to her: "Obedience to Allah and obedience to His Messenger is better for you." So she married him, and she was pleased with him.
