Musnad Ahmad 1255:8

I read to Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi: Malik, from Abdullah ibn Yazid, the freed slave of al-Aswad ibn Sufyan, from Abu Salamah ibn Abd al-Rahman, from Fatimah bint Qays, that Abu Amr ibn Hafs divorced her irrevocably while he was away. He sent his agent to her with some barley, and she was displeased with it. He said, "By Allah, you have no claim upon us for anything." She came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and mentioned that to him. He said, "You have no maintenance from him." He ordered her to observe her waiting period in the house of Umm Sharik. Then he said, "That is a woman whom my companions visit. Observe your waiting period at the house of Ibn Umm Maktum, for he is a blind man; you may take off your clothes in his presence. When your waiting period is over, inform me." When my waiting period was over, I mentioned to him that Muawiyah ibn Abi Sufyan and Abu al-Jahm had proposed to me. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "As for Abu al-Jahm, he does not put down his staff. And as for Muawiyah, he is a destitute man who has no wealth. Marry Usamah ibn Zayd."
