Hadith of Fayruz al-Daylami (RA)

Hadith 599:6

Abu al-Mughirah narrated to us, Ibn 'Ayyash—meaning Isma'il—narrated to us, Yahya—meaning Ibn Abi 'Amr al-Shaybani—narrated to me, from 'Abdullah ibn al-Daylami, from his father Fayruz, who said: I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah, we are people of vineyards and grapevines, and the prohibition of wine has been revealed. What should we do with them?" He said: "You shall make them into raisins." I said: "And what shall we do with the raisins?" He said: "You shall soak them for your lunch and drink it for your dinner, and you shall soak them for your dinner and drink it for your lunch." I said: "O Messenger of Allah, we are who you know, and we are dwelling among those whom you know, so who is our guardian?" He said: "Allah and His Messenger." I said: "That is sufficient for me, O Messenger of Allah."
