Hadith of Hafsa (RA), the Mother of the Believers, daughter of Umar ibn al-Khattab (RA)

حديث حفصة أم المؤمنين بنت عمر بن الخطاب رضي الله عنهما

Hadith 1155:1

Isma'il ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, he said: Ayyub narrated to us, from Nafi', from Ibn 'Umar, who said: And Hafsa narrated to me—and it was a time when no one would enter upon him—that he [the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] "would pray two rak'ahs when the dawn broke," and the caller would call for the prayer. Ayyub said: I think he said: "Light [brief] ones."

حدثنا إسماعيل بن إبراهيم، قال: حدثنا أيوب، عن نافع، عن ابن عمر، قال: وحدثتني حفصة، وكانت ساعة لا يدخل عليه فيها أحد، أنه كان " يصلي ركعتين حين يطلع الفجر، تعني النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم "، وينادي المنادي بالصلاة. قال أيوب: أراه قال: خفيفتين . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
