Hadith of Hakim bin Hizam (RA) from the Prophet (SAW)

Hadith 125:6

Ibn Numayr narrated to us, Hisham ibn Urwah informed us, from his father, from Hakim ibn Hizam, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, saying: "The upper hand is better than the lower hand. Let one of you begin with those whom he supports. The best charity is that which is given from surplus wealth. Whoever seeks to be self-sufficient, Allah will make him self-sufficient, and whoever seeks to be chaste, Allah will make him chaste." I said: "And from you, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "And from me." Hakim said: I said: "My hand shall never be beneath the hand of any man among the Arabs."
