Hadith 951:1
Sufyan ibn 'Uyaynah narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from Sa'id, who said: 'Umar passed by Hassan while he was reciting poetry in the mosque, so he looked at him [reproachfully]. Hassan said: "I used to recite [poetry] in it while there was someone in it who is better than you." Then he turned to Abu Hurayrah and said: "Did you hear the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: 'Answer on my behalf; O Allah, support him with the Holy Spirit'?" He said: "Yes."
حدثنا سفيان بن عيينة، عن الزهري، عن سعيد، قال: مر عمر بحسان، وهو ينشد في المسجد، فلحظ إليه، قال: كنت أنشد وفيه من هو خير منك. ثم التفت إلى أبي هريرة، فقال: سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول: " أجب عني، اللهم أيده بروح القدس؟ " قال: نعم
