Musnad Ahmad 298:6

Isma'il narrated to us, he said: Ayyub narrated to us, from Humayd ibn Hilal, from Hisham ibn 'Amir, who said: They complained to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about the wounds on the day of Uhud, and they said: "How do you command us regarding our dead?" He said: "Dig, widen, make good, and bury two or three in one grave, and put forward the one who knew the most Qur'an." Hisham said: So my father was put forward in front of two others.
