Hadith of Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman (RA) from the Prophet (SAW)

Hadith 1034:116

'Affan narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, al-Hakam narrated to us, he said: I heard Ibn Abi Layla [saying] that Hudhayfah was in al-Mada'in, and a *dihqan* (landowner/official) came to him with a vessel of silver. He took it and threw it at him and said: "I did not do this except that I had forbidden him, but he did not desist." And indeed, the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) forbade me from drinking in vessels of gold and silver, and [from wearing] silk and brocade. And he said: "They are for them in this world, and for you in the Hereafter."
