Musnad Ahmad 1034:143

Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, from 'Abd al-Malik ibn 'Umayr, from Rib'i ibn Hirash, from Hudhayfah, from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "A man died and entered Paradise. It was said to him: 'What did you used to do?' He said—either he mentioned it or it was mentioned—'I used to trade with people, and I would grant respite to the one in difficulty, and I would be lenient in the debt or in the payment.' So he was forgiven." Abu Mas'ud said: "And I heard it from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)."
