Abu Nu'aym narrated to us, al-Walid—meaning Ibn Jami'—narrated to us, Abu al-Tufayl narrated to us, from Hudhayfah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) went out on the day of the Battle of Tabuk. He said: It reached him that there was a scarcity of water at the place he was heading to. So he ordered a caller, and he called out among the people: "Let no one precede me to the water." He came to the water, and a group of people had already preceded him, so he cursed them.
