Abu al-Yaman narrated to us, he said: And Shu’ayb informed us, from al-Zuhri, who said: Abu Idris ‘A’idh Allah ibn ‘Abd Allah al-Khawlani used to say: I heard Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman saying: By Allah, I am the most knowledgeable of people regarding every trial that will occur between me and the Hour. And it is not that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, confided in me regarding that with something he did not tell anyone else, but the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said—while he was speaking to a gathering I was among regarding the trials, and he was counting them: "Among them are three that hardly leave anything, and among them are trials like the winds of summer; some of them are small and some of them are large." Hudhayfah said: So all of those people have passed away, except for me.
