Musnad Ahmad 1034:22

Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, Al-A'mash narrated to us, from Sa'd ibn 'Ubaydah, from Mustawrid ibn Ahnaf, from Silah ibn Zufar, from Hudhayfah, who said: I prayed with the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, one night. He said: He began [reciting] Al-Baqarah and recited until he reached the hundredth verse, so I said: "He will bow," but he continued until he reached the two hundredth verse. I said: "He will bow," but he continued until he finished it. He said: I said: "He will bow." He said: Then he began [reciting] Surah An-Nisa and recited it. He said: Then he bowed. He said: And he said in his bowing: "Glory be to my Lord, the Magnificent." He said: And his bowing was equal to his standing. Then he prostrated, and his prostration was like his bowing, and he said in his prostration: "Glory be to my Lord, the Most High." He said: And whenever he passed by a verse of mercy, he would ask [Allah for it], and whenever he passed by a verse containing punishment, he would seek refuge [with Allah from it], and whenever he passed by a verse containing the glorification of Allah, he would glorify Him.
