Musnad Ahmad 1034:48

Musa ibn Dawud narrated to us, Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to us, from Bakr ibn 'Amr, from Abu 'Abd al-Malik, from Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The superiority of the house near the mosque over the distant house is like the superiority of the warrior (ghazi) over the one who stays behind."
