Musnad Ahmad 1034:92

Yunus narrated to us, Hammad—meaning Ibn Salamah—narrated to us, from Asim ibn Bahdalah, from Zirr ibn Hubaysh, from Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "I was brought the Buraq, and it is a white, long beast that places its hoof at the furthest point of its sight. Gabriel and I did not dismount from its back until I reached Bayt al-Maqdis (Jerusalem). The gates of the heaven were opened for us, and I saw Paradise and Hell." Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman said: "Did he not pray in Bayt al-Maqdis?" Zirr said: "I said to him: 'Yes, he did pray.'" Hudhayfah said: "What is your name, O bald one? For I recognize your face, but I do not know your name." I said: "I am Zirr ibn Hubaysh." He said: "And what makes you know that he prayed?" I said: "Allah says: 'Exalted is He who took His Servant by night from al-Masjid al-Haram to al-Masjid al-Aqsa, whose surroundings We have blessed, to show him of Our signs. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Seeing' [Al-Isra: 1]." He said: "Do you find that he prayed? If he had prayed, you would pray in it just as you pray in al-Masjid al-Haram." Zirr said: "And he tied the beast to the ring to which the prophets tie [their mounts]." Hudhayfah said: "Was he afraid that it would go away from him, when Allah had brought it to him?"
