Surayj ibn al-Nu‘man narrated to us, Hushaym narrated to us, from al-Mughirah, from Abu Wa’il, from Ibn Mas‘ud, and Husayn, from Abu Wa’il, from Hudhayfah, both of whom said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "I am your forerunner at the Basin (al-Hawd). I will be watching for you, so that men from among you will be raised to me. Until, when I recognize them, they will be snatched away from before me. I will say: 'O Lord, my companions! My companions!' It will be said: 'You do not know what they innovated after you.'"
