Hadith 334:9

Hashim ibn al-Qasim narrated to us, he said: ‘Ikrimah narrated to us, he said: Iyas ibn Salamah ibn al-Akwa‘ narrated to us, from his father, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) to [the tribe of] Fazarah, and I went out with him. When we drew near to the water, Abu Bakr halted for the night. When we had prayed the morning prayer, he commanded us, and we launched the raid. We reached the water, and Abu Bakr killed those who were killed, and we were with him. Salamah said: I saw a group of people among whom were women and children, and I feared that they would reach the mountain before me, so I caught up with them and shot an arrow between them and the mountain. When they saw the arrow, they stopped. There was a woman from Fazarah wearing a garment of leather, with her was a daughter who was among the most beautiful of the Arabs. I came driving them toward Abu Bakr, and Abu Bakr gave me her daughter as a gift (nafal). I did not uncover any garment of hers until I arrived in Medina. Then she stayed with me, and I did not uncover any garment of hers. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) met me in the market and said: "O Salamah, give the woman to me." I said: O Messenger of Allah, she has pleased me, and I have not uncovered any garment of hers. He said: So he remained silent. When the next day came, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) met me in the market, and I had not uncovered any garment of hers, and he said: "O Salamah, give the woman to me, may your father be sacrificed for you." I said: She is yours, O Messenger of Allah. He said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent her to the people of Mecca, and he ransomed with her some Muslim captives who were in the hands of the polytheists.
