Ibn Mas‘adah, the commander of the armies, said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: "Whoever is appointed to a position of authority over people, and he closes his door against the needy, the destitute, and the oppressed, Allah will close the gates of the heavens against his needs, his poverty, and his destitution."
