Hadith 1232:3
Yunus ibn Muhammad narrated to us, he said: Abdullah ibn Maysarah Abu Layla narrated to us, from Abu Ukashah al-Hamdani, he said: Rifa’ah al-Bajali said: I entered upon al-Mukhtar ibn Abi Ubayd in his palace, and I heard him saying: "Gabriel did not stand except from my presence before." He said: So I intended to strike his neck, but I remembered a hadith that Sulayman ibn Surad narrated to us from the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, that the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, used to say: "If a man entrusts you with his blood, then do not kill him." He said: And he had entrusted me with his blood, so I disliked [spilling] his blood.
حدثنا يونس بن محمد، قال: حدثنا عبد الله بن ميسرة أبو ليلى، عن أبي عكاشة الهمداني قال: قال رفاعة البجلي: دخلت على المختار بن أبي عبيد قصره فسمعته يقول: ما قام جبريل إلا من عندي قبل، قال: فهممت أن أضرب عنقه، فذكرت حديثا حدثناه سليمان بن صرد، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم كان يقول: " إذا أمنك الرجل على دمه فلا تقتله "، قال: وكان قد أمنني على دمه فكرهت دمه .................................
