Musnad Ahmad 790:103

Yazid narrated to us, Sharik ibn Abdullah informed us, from Mansur, from Khaythama, from al-Hasan, who said: I was walking with Imran ibn Husayn, one of us holding the hand of his companion, when we passed by a beggar who was reciting the Quran. Imran detained me and said: "Stop, let us listen to the Quran." When he finished, he asked [for charity]. Imran said: "Let us go, for I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, say: 'Recite the Quran and ask Allah by it, for there will come after you a people who will recite the Quran and ask people by it.'"
