Musnad Ahmad 790:104

Muhammad ibn Ja‘far narrated to us, Shu‘bah narrated to us, from ‘Abdullah ibn Subayh, who said: I heard Muhammad ibn Sirin say: They mentioned in the presence of ‘Imran ibn Husayn, "The deceased is punished by the weeping of the living." They said: "How is the deceased punished by the weeping of the living?" ‘Imran said: "The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, has said it."
