Hadith 790:157

Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, Abu Na'amah al-'Adawi informed us, from Humayd ibn Hilal, from Bashir ibn Ka'b, from 'Imran ibn Husayn, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Modesty is entirely good." Bashir said: So I said: "Indeed, there is weakness in it, and there is incapacity in it." He (Imran) said: "I narrate to you from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and you bring me counter-arguments? I will not narrate a hadith to you as long as I know you." They said: "O Abu Nujayd, he is of good inclination, and he is such and such." They did not cease [pleading with] him until he calmed down and narrated.

حدثنا يزيد بن هارون، أخبرنا أبو نعامة العدوى، عن حميد بن هلال، عن بشير بن كعب، عن عمران بن حصين قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " الحياء خير كله " فقال بشير: فقلت: إن منه ضعفا، وإن منه عجزا. فقال: أحدثك عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وتجيئني بالمعاريض لا أحدثك بحديث ما عرفتك. فقالوا: يا أبا نجيد إنه طيب الهوى، وإنه وإنه فلم يزالوا به حتى سكن وحدث
