'Abd al-Samad and 'Affan narrated to us, they said: Hammad narrated to us, Abu al-Tayyah narrated to us, he said: 'Affan said: Abu al-Tayyah informed us, from Mutarrif, from 'Imran ibn Husayn, that the Prophet (peace be upon him) forbade cauterization. So we were cauterized, and we neither succeeded nor prospered. And 'Affan said: They neither succeeded nor prospered.
