Hadith 790:31
Muhammad ibn Ja‘far narrated to us, Shu‘bah narrated to us, from Qatadah, from al-Hasan, from ‘Imran ibn al-Husayn, that a man from the Ansar emancipated six slaves at the time of his death, and he had no wealth other than them. That reached the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and he spoke harshly to him. Then the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, called for them and drew lots among them. He emancipated two and returned four to slavery.
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر، حدثنا شعبة، عن قتادة، عن الحسن، عن عمران بن الحصين، أن رجلا من الأنصار أعتق رءوسا ستة عند موته، ولم يكن له مال غيرهم، فبلغ ذلك رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فأغلظ له، فدعا بهم رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم " فأقرع بينهم فأعتق اثنين، ورد أربعة في الرق "
