Hadith 790:36
Bahz and 'Affan narrated to us—the meaning is the same—they said: Hammam narrated to us, from Qatadah, from Mutarrif, who said: 'Imran ibn Husayn said: "We performed Tamattu' with the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and the Quran was revealed concerning it." 'Affan said: "And the Quran was revealed concerning it." He continued: "The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, died and did not forbid it, and nothing abrogated it." Then a man said regarding it whatever he wished based on his own opinion.
حدثنا بهز، وحدثنا عفان المعنى قالا: حدثنا همام، عن قتادة، عن مطرف قال: قال عمران بن حصين: " تمتعنا مع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، وأنزل فيها القرآن، قال عفان: ونزل فيه القرآن، فمات رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ولم ينه عنها، ولم ينسخها شيء " قال رجل برأيه ما شاء
