Hadith of Imran ibn Husain (RA)

Hadith 790:69

Sufyan ibn 'Uyaynah narrated to us, from Ayyub, from Abu Qilabah, from Abu al-Muhallab, from Imran ibn Husayn, from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), who said: "There was a woman whom the enemy had taken captive. They used to bring their camels back in the evening. She went to the camels, wanting a camel from them to ride. Every time she approached a camel, it would groan, so she would leave it, until she came to a she-camel of theirs that did not groan, so she rode upon it and escaped. She arrived in Medina, and when the people saw her, they said: 'The she-camel of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), al-'Adba'.' She said: 'I have vowed that if Allah saves me upon it, I will slaughter it.' He (the Prophet) said: 'How evil is that with which you have rewarded it! There is no vow for a son of Adam in what he does not own, and there is no vow in disobedience to Allah.'"
