Hadith 790:8
Waki’ and ‘Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Jami’ ibn Shaddad, from Safwan ibn Muhriz, from ‘Imran ibn Husayn. ‘Abd al-Rahman said: A group from Banu Tamim came. Waki’ said: Banu Tamim came to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and he said: "Receive glad tidings, O Banu Tamim." They said: "O Messenger of Allah, you have given us glad tidings, so give us [something]." ‘Abd al-Rahman said: The face of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, changed. He said: Then a tribe from Yemen came, and he said: "Accept the glad tidings, since Banu Tamim did not accept them." They said: "O Messenger of Allah, we accept."
حدثنا وكيع، وعبد الرحمن، عن سفيان، عن جامع بن شداد، عن صفوان بن محرز، عن عمران بن حصين قال عبد الرحمن: جاء نفر من بني تميم. قال وكيع: جاءت بنو تميم إلى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فقال: " أبشروا يا بني تميم ". قالوا: يا رسول الله، بشرتنا فأعطنا. قال عبد الرحمن: فتغير وجه رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: فجاء حي من يمن فقال: " اقبلوا البشرى إذ لم يقبلها بنو تميم " قالوا: يا رسول الله قبلنا
