Musnad Ahmad 459:15

Abu Ja'far—who is Muhammad ibn Ja'far al-Mada'ini—narrated to us, 'Abbad ibn al-'Awwam informed me, from Sufyan ibn al-Husayn, from Khalid ibn Sharik, from al-'Irbad ibn Sariyah, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, say: "Indeed, when a man gives his wife water to drink, he receives a reward." He said: So I went to her, gave her water to drink, and told her what I had heard from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.
