Hadith 331:2
Sufyan narrated to us, from al-Zuhri—and Sufyan was asked: From whom? He said: It is Mahmud, if Allah wills—that Itban ibn Malik was a man whose sight was obstructed, and that he mentioned to the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, his absence from the prayer. He said: "Do you hear the call?" He said: "Yes." He said: "Then he did not grant him a concession."
حدثنا سفيان، عن الزهري، فسئل سفيان: عمن؟ قال: هو محمود إن شاء الله أن عتبان بن مالك كان رجلا محجوب البصر، وأنه ذكر للنبي صلى الله عليه وسلم التخلف عن الصلاة، قال: " هل تسمع النداء؟ "، قال: نعم، قال: فلم يرخص له
