Hadith of Jabir bin Abdullah, from Ubayy bin Ka'b (RA)

حديث جابر بن عبد الله، عن أبي بن كعب،

Hadith 917:1

Abdullah narrated to us, Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah Abdullah ibn Muhammad narrated to me, a man narrated to us—he named him—Ya’qub ibn Abdullah al-Ash’ari narrated to us, ‘Isa ibn Jariyah narrated to us, from Jabir ibn Abdullah, from Ubayy ibn Ka’b, who said: A man came to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and said: "O Messenger of Allah, I performed an action tonight." He said: "What is it?" He said: "Women are with me in the house, and they said to me: 'You recite and we do not recite, so lead us in prayer.' So I prayed eight [rak'ahs] and the witr." He said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, remained silent. He said: So we saw that his silence was approval of what had happened.
