'Abdullah narrated to us, Shuja' ibn Makhlad Abu al-Fadl narrated to me, 'Abbad ibn al-'Awwam narrated to us, from al-Hajjaj, from Simak—who is Ibn Harb—from Jabir ibn Samurah, who said: "There was thinness in the shanks of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. He would not laugh except by smiling. And whenever I saw him, I would say: 'He is kohl-eyed,' yet he was not kohl-eyed."
