Musnad Ahmad 907:164

Abdullah narrated to us, my father narrated to us, Ali bin Thabit narrated to us, from Nasih Abu Abdullah, from Simak bin Harb, from Jabir bin Samurah, that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "For a man to discipline his child is better for him than to give half a sa' of charity every day." Abu Abd al-Rahman said: "My father did not narrate any hadith from Nasih Abu Abdullah other than this one."
