Hajjaj narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, from Simak ibn Harb, who said: I heard Jabir ibn Samurah say: I saw the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, when Ma'iz ibn Malik was brought to him. He mentioned its meaning, except that he said: "One of them would lag behind, bleating like the bleating of a billy goat." He said: So I narrated it to Al-Hakam, and it pleased him, and he said to me: "What is the *kuthbah*?" So I asked Simak about the *kuthbah*, and he said: "A small amount of milk."
