Hadith of Jabir ibn Samurah al-Suwa'i (RA)
Hadith 907:184
Abu Kamil narrated to us, Hammad narrated to us, Simak bin Harb narrated to us, from Jabir bin Samurah: That when food was brought to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, he would eat from it and send the remainder to Abu Ayyub. Abu Ayyub would place his fingers where he saw the traces of the fingers of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. Then a bowl was brought to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and he found the scent of garlic in it, so he did not taste it. He sent it to Abu Ayyub. He looked and did not see the traces of the fingers of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, in it, so he did not taste it. He came to him and said: "O Messenger of Allah, I did not see the traces of your fingers in it?" He said: "I found the scent of garlic in it." He said: "So you send me what you do not eat?" He said: "I am visited by the Angel."
