Hadith of Jabir ibn Samurah al-Suwa'i (RA)
Hadith 907:2
'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Isra'il informed us, from Simak, that he heard Jabir ibn Samurah saying: Ma'iz ibn Malik was brought to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. He was a short man, wearing an izar (lower garment) and nothing else over it. He said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was reclining on a pillow on his left side. He spoke to him, and I do not know what he said to him, as I was far from him, with people between me and him. Then he said: "Take him away." Then he said: "Bring him back." So he spoke to him, and I heard him. He said: "Take him away and stone him." Then the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, stood up to deliver a sermon, and I heard him. He said: "Every time we set out in the way of Allah, one of them stays behind, bleating like a billy goat, offering one of them a small amount of milk. By Allah, if I get hold of one of them, I will surely make an example of him."
