Bahz narrated to us, Hammad bin Salamah narrated to us, Simak narrated to us, from Jabir bin Samurah: That the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), when he ate food, would send the remainder of it to Abu Ayyub. Abu Ayyub would place his fingers where he saw the fingers of the Prophet (ﷺ). Then, food was brought to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and he found the scent of garlic in it, so he did not eat it and sent it to Abu Ayyub. He (Abu Ayyub) did not see the trace of the Prophet’s (ﷺ) fingers in it, so he said: "O Messenger of Allah, I did not see the trace of your fingers in it?" He (the Prophet) said: "I found the scent of garlic in it." He (Abu Ayyub) said: "Do you send me what you do not eat?" He (the Prophet) said: "Indeed, the Angel comes to me."
