Musnad Ahmad 907:231

'Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Simak, from Jabir ibn Samurah: That the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, "used to deliver the sermon standing, and he would sit, then he would stand and recite verses and remember Allah. His sermon was moderate, and his prayer was moderate."
