Muhammad ibn Ja‘far narrated to us, Shu‘bah narrated to us, and Hajjaj narrated to us, Shu‘bah informed us, from Simak ibn Harb, from Jabir ibn Samurah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) performed the funeral prayer for Ibn al-Dahdah. Hajjaj said: For Abu al-Dahdah. Then a horse with a blaze on its forehead was brought, and a man hobbled it, then he (the Prophet) mounted it, and it began to trot with him, while we followed him, running behind him. He said: A man from the people said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "How many a date-palm cluster is hanging, or suspended, in Paradise for Ibn al-Dahdah." Hajjaj said in his narration: A man with us in the gathering of Jabir ibn Samurah said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "How many a date-palm cluster is suspended for Abu al-Dahdah in Paradise."
