Musnad Ahmad 907:39

Abu Kamil and Abu al-Nadr narrated to us, they said: Zuhayr narrated to us, Simak ibn Harb narrated to us, he said: I asked Jabir ibn Samurah, "Did you use to sit with the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace?" He said: "Yes, frequently. He would not rise from his prayer place where he prayed the morning [prayer] until the sun rose. When it rose, he would stand up. And he used to prolong [his sitting]." Abu al-Nadr said: "He was often silent, while they would talk and discuss matters of the Jahiliyyah (pre-Islamic era), and they would laugh, and he would smile."
