Musnad Ahmad 907:9

Sulayman ibn Dawud narrated to us, Sharik informed us, from Simak, who said: I said to Jabir ibn Samurah: "Did you use to sit with the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace?" He said: "Yes. He was long of silence and little of laughter. His companions would recite poetry in his presence, and mention things from their affairs, and they would laugh, and he would perhaps smile."
