And from the Hadith of Jarir ibn Abdullah (RA), from the Prophet (SAW)
ومن حديث جرير بن عبد الله، (1) عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم
Hadith 770:4
'Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Habib, from al-Mughirah ibn Shubayl—Abu Nu'aym said: al-Mughirah ibn Shubayl, meaning ibn 'Awf, in this hadith—from Jarir ibn 'Abd Allah, from the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, who said: "Whichever slave runs away, the covenant (dhimmah) is absolved from him."
حدثنا عبد الرحمن، عن سفيان، عن حبيب، عن المغيرة بن شبيل أو شبل، قال أبو نعيم: المغيرة بن شبيل يعني ابن عوف، في هذا الحديث، عن جرير بن عبد الله، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: " أيما عبد أبق فقد برئت منه الذمة "
